Basecamp is where everyone starts. In this private training CrossFit prep course we go through the 9 fundamental movements in CrossFit along with some beginner level CrossFit workouts. You will learn safe and effective ways to squat, press, deadlift, swing a kettlebell, do a push up, do pull ups, and sit ups. It is a fun way to learn the basics of CrossFit in a safe and supportive environment under the guidance of a knowledgeable and experienced trainer. If you are not ready to enter classes you will have the option of repeating the course or staying in private training.

  • If you have previous lifting/CrossFit experience you may opt to “Test Out” of the Basecamp
  • Test Out is a private session ($25) with a coach who will test and grade your ROM and knowledge as well as recommend any additional work you may need to do before entering classes

CrossFit is our core strength and conditioning program at Mountain Strength CrossFit. 

After you graduate from the BaseCamp classes you will enter the beginner’s or All Levels CrossFit classes. CrossFit is by design broad, general and inclusive. Its specialty is in not specializing, and its workouts elicit a maximal neuro-endocrine response from your body by taxing your body to its core with variety, intensity, and multiple joint, full body, functional movements. 

One of the things that makes CrossFit unique is that it addresses the fact that the fitness needs of an “Average Joe” are identical to that of a top athlete – the only difference being intensity (speed & weight) and volume. In all cases, the best results come when training included functional movement (that which replicates real life movement), at high intensity and with constant variety. Any exercise program that meets these three criteria can be considered “CrossFit,” from shoveling dirt, hauling rocks and cutting down trees to weightlifting, pull ups and sprinting.



Visiting family in the area? Traveling for work? Just want to compare how we do CrossFit? If you have experience in CrossFit sign up for a drop in. We would be happy to have you in our regular class. You can reserve a drop in class here. We just ask that you have done at least 6 months of CrossFit at another CrossFit Affiliated Gym. We’re always happy to see people crushing it on their own. But our coaches have trained eyes and make sure everyone in class is moving safely. We want to make sure our regular members are getting the most out their class too.

Our High school/Teen Strength and Conditioning program is for high school athletes of all sports. We have worked with High School and club Athletes in Soccer, Golf, Lacrosse, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Crew, and Track and Field. We focus on building a well rounded athlete. Our approach reduces injuries and educates the athlete on proper technique and safety. Our classes are small so we can cater to the individual athetes needs.

Spartan Group X (SGX) at Mountain Strength CrossFit is a 6-week, 3 phase, unique group exercise program. SGX is designed to create an exhilarating and badass community driven group atmosphere of fitness, nutrition, and performance that optimizes individual performance in Spartan Races and other obstacle/mud run races (Tough Mudder, Warrior Dash, etc.) as well as in daily life.

SGX utilizes a unique, independently developed strategy of periodization in 3 phases that allows specific aspects of training, fitness, and nutrition to be targeted at various times. Classes will meet 2x/week for 6 weeks at a time. SGX is about changing the mind and body from the inside out. SGX prepares people for life! It is not about curling, running or biking — it is about pushing, pulling, jumping, stretching, breathing and sweating. You’ll know at the finish line!

Movement Evaluations

Do you have pain that won’t go away or a recurring pain that hasn’t been addressed by performing physical therapy? Through a series of safe, functional, and effective tests over the course of an hour, learn about your body’s unique response to asymmetry and how to correct imbalances and eliminate pain. The goal of the Movement Specialist is to identify movement inefficiencies and correct them before an injury occurs. They provide training that is preventative care, removing the later need for physical therapy.

A Movement Specialist has an ongoing relationship with their athletes. The coach is either present during rehab sessions or is communicating with the athlete consistently to ensure that movement and pain are improving. Following the initial assessment and the prescribed rehab time, a second evaluation is completed to ensure that the athlete is progressing and that no new compensation patterns have developed.
