I had a very active early life in athletics; soccer, football, lacrosse, skiing. Then, like many other people landed behind a desk for 10 hours a day. While I kept in reasonable shape with cycling and hiking, I found that I missed the fitness I had ‘back in the day’. In 2011, I was in the fortunate position of knowing Rich Borgatti, who had just started his private training business and was on his way to completing his Crossfit Affiliate status. I started working out with him regularly, attending his boot-camps and eventually landed with him as he found a permanent residence for Mountain Strength. Now I am 25 pounds lighter and a hell of a lot stronger than I was in my 20’s. Crossfit and, in particular, Mountain Strength provide everything I enjoy about fitness; community, competition and ass-kicking workouts. In 2013 Rich encouraged me to go through his intern program and become an instructor, which I happily did. 

I consider myself a generalist and while I have no ‘specialities’, I really enjoy mobility, Obstacle Course Races, and can really swing the shit out of a kettlebell.
