I found a home at Mountain Strength Crossfit in April of 2013 after having bounced around from gym to gym for most of my twenties and thirties. The only consistent exercise I had in my life after college was running. Not that type of running that Crossfit has allowed me to do now, but the 2 to 3 mile jogs that were just enough to keep me from packing on the pounds and feel like I was in shape.

In high school I played basketball and threw and jumped in track and field. The discus, hammer and high jump were my three events. In college I was not big and strong enough to compete at discus and was only able to throw at home meets. I wish I knew then what I know now about how to gain size and strength!

Since starting Crossfit at MSCF in 2013 I’ve run four half marathons, a Ragner trail relay, the 2014 and 2016 Boston Marathons,  3 Spartan Sprints, 2 Supers and the Vermont Spartan Beast. I’ve taken part in the Civilian Military Combine, two Tough Mudders, and have run many 5ks and 10k races in between. I hit a 1265lb powerlifting total in 2017 with a 455lb backsquat, 525lb deadlift. I’ve accomplished things I used to think were out of reach. Now I’ve learned that anything is possible if you have the right attitude and surround yourself with the right people. I’m thrilled to now be a part of this team with the opportunity to share what I’ve learned and help new friends reach their goals.
