This Tuesday evening will mark Coach Matt’s last evening class. He will be leaving us for Europe and we wish him well on his journey. Some of you may remember when Coach Matt Joined us from CrossFit H20 (now defunct) back on Oct. 24th 2015. Along his journey as an athlete he wanted to expand his fitness knowledge and he officially applied to enter our coaching Internship program on Sept. 22 2016 and passed his Level 1 CrossFit cert in January 2017 to become a fully certified trainer!
We would love it if as many athletes as possible could join us Tuesday evening for a great last set of classes to see him off for his new adventure!
A letter goodbye from Coach Matt:
As you may or may not have heard, I’ll be leaving Mountain Strength at the end of April to travel around Europe for 5 months. It’s an opportunity that I wasn’t expecting to have, but it’s one that I’m very excited about and one that I can’t pass up. Because of that, I’ll be coaching my last classes here next Tuesday.
To all the athletes, I want to say thank you for making my experience as a first time coach a very enjoyable one. You always have a great attitude in class, even after a long day at work, during a brutal workout, or when you’re getting over being sick. No matter what the circumstances, you always put in the hard work required to improve, and that’s great to see from a coach’s perspective. It’s also been a pleasure to get to know you personally, and work out with you as an athlete. You’ve given my plenty of motivation during tough workouts when I definitely needed it.
To all the coaches, thank you for being a great group of people to work with. This staff has been a pleasure to get to know, and has been very helpful to me personally as a first time coach. I appreciate all the advice you’ve given me, and enjoyed working with a group that is always trying to help each other out. As an athlete, you’ve all helped me improve, and have made my experience here better as well.
I don’t know exactly what my long term plans will be after the 5 months, but you will see me back at Mountain Strength in the fall. I’m looking forward to working out with you again when I get back. Until then, thanks again, and take care.
