What brought you to Mountain Strength CrossFit?
My wife Ami brought me to MSCF. She did SGX training last year, and stayed in the gym, went through on ramp and loved MSCF. She kept convincing me to come try it out, because I’d been with a personal trainer for a long time, who I really liked, but, was only able to go once a week based on the cost, and wasn’t getting anything done on my own the rest of the week. The second I got to MSCF, I was hooked, and I now regularly come 2-3 times a week and try to get to open gym once on weekends.
What is your favorite exercise or movement?
I think my favorite exercise is the clean and press, because it’s challenging and is a full body lift.
What is a skill or movement that you are working on to improve?
I’m working on mobility in general, particularly in my shoulders, to help me with overhead lifts, snatches, jerks, etc.
What changes have you seen in yourself since you started at Mountain Strength CrossFit?
Since I started at MSCF, while I still have a long way to go, I’ve noticed a tremendous improvement in my mobility, since before coming to crossfit. I probably couldn’t even execute a PVC pipe overhead squat when I got here, and now I’m doing weighted ones regularly (albeit still not perfectly!).
What is your favorite memory of Mountain Strength CrossFit?
My favorite memory is Friday Night Lights during the Open. It was amazing, the fun, the competition and the comradery, and I got to know so many members better during that 5 week period that we all saw each other regularly. It made me really feel like part of the community.
