What brought you to Mountain Strength CrossFit?
After I had my second baby I was looking for a way to get fit. I was working out with a personal trainer who encouraged me to try other things. The only things I knew about Crossfit were that my friend Brooke loved it and it was close to my house. I signed up for an intro class not knowing anything else.
What is your favorite exercise or movement?
Toes to Bar is my favorite exercise. It is always challenging for me but it is one of the movements that I was convinced I would never be able to do. Every time I hang from the bar and get my toes up I am amazed that I can actually do it.
What is a skill or movement that you are working on to improve?
Pull Ups are an ongoing goal of mine. I have made a lot of progress from having to use the two largest bands to being able to do a few on my own but I would love to be able to do them in a WOD.
What changes have you seen in yourself since you started at Mountain Strength CrossFit?
I have reduced my stress level and become a little more present. I love having an hour a day when someone tells me what to do, i get to see friends, and work on personal goals that are separate from family and work. The time that I take away to be at crossfit helps me to be much more present the rest of the day.
What is your favorite memory of Mountain Strength CrossFit?
It is hard to pick one because I have many "Best Day Ever" moments at MSCF. I think the Glen this year is one of the top. I loved being outside and having my kids there to cheer me on. Rope Climbing was never something I thought I cared to do but I was surprised that I could do it and my kids were proud to watch.
